Why these particular keys?
They allow the right hand to drive the mouse while the left hand stays in place to select objects and actions without the eyes ever having to leave the screen. Note that the most critical functions are assigned to the most easily reached keys (darker background) and that the editing keys are shown in two groups according to whether they are objects or actions (unshifted or ctrl-key). Keys that are changed in function from the default assignments are depicted in red with deleted functions shown as strikethrough text.
